The Brief
Nigel needed more than just storage - he wanted a shed that was practical, oversized, and built for both work and play.
The requirements were clear:
Secure space for bikes and vehicles
Oversized roller doors
Room for a mezzanine workshop and hangout area
A design that could handle the complexities of a steep, restricted site
The Build
Standing at 10m x 15.38m with a 5.88m gable roof, this shed required careful planning and execution.
Council Approvals: The structure’s height meant a full council relaxation approval was essential.
Engineering: Site-specific solutions were required for stormwater management and steep site challenges.
Retaining Walls: Up to 3 metres high, critical to stabilise the block.
End-to-End Service: Steelhaven managed everything from design and approvals through to certification - ensuring compliance without compromise.

Oversized windlock roller doors for vehicles and gear
External gutters with internal stormwater plumbing for a clean, streamlined finish
A large inline mezzanine, framed with steel purlins and SHS posts, finished with 22mm structural flooring
Customised stair and window layout, designed with Nigel to suit future workshop and fit-out flexibility
